How to maintain a lifestyle even after a huge weight loss? Go on a food plan with your spouse.

Last Saturday, my wife says “I want to try the “Your Inner Skinny” program again. My response was fantastic. “Your Inner Skinny” is a book written by Joy Bauer from the NBC Today Show. She is the NBC Today Show Head Nutrionalist and it was the plan I followed on my way to lose 130# in 2010. She said let’s go on that diet. I said it’s not a D.I.E.t, because the first 3 letters spells something I am not ready for yet. D.I.E.t., it’s a huge food lifestyle change.

We made the food list and set off to the grocery store. I thought in order to help her, I’ll do it again and start back on week 1. It’s amazing how well she did. No pop (she used to drink 2-3 20 oz.. ones a day) and no mini-chocolate bars (which she ate 4-6 daily).

Our official weigh-in after week 1 was this morning, we both lost 5# each. A good start for week 1. Week 2 begins today with home-made muffins of 100 calories each and bananas for breakfast. A few more healthy foods added this week.

My wife are now doing this program together. I suggest that you start today and have a person to do it with. Going it alone is always hard, so buddy up and find a family member or a friend to go on the journey with you.

I have another goal in mind of 175#, which will be my final goal as I want to continue with my upper body building.

Today, as I look back on the last 2 years, I can’t even believe that I did it. I’ve lost 135 pounds as of this week. This picture taken in March 2010 reminds me that I was overweight and fat at 310#.

I am just your average hometown guy that was overweight and knew I needed to do something about it. I decided to go for it (with some help from my family), and now I’m sharing my story with other people who want to lose weight but are afraid to take that first step. Trust me, it’s never too late to become healthy.

Please know that I am always here to help. I want other people to achieve the same type of success that I have. I did it, and I know you can too! This is my picture of Joy Bauer and me after I had lost 105# in New York City on November 29, 2010.
